Recently the university from which I am retired changed the method of access to online databases, online journals, and interlibrary loan. Since emeritus faculty are no longer listed as active in the Banner system, we no longer have access to the materials or services listed above. (We can still check out books, but that’s it.) I have requested, both through the Director of the Library and through the English Department, that access for emeritus faculty be reinstated, but so far (after several weeks) nothing has happened. Am I correct that most universities allow emeritus faculty to retain full faculty library privileges?
